PURPOSE:
The Civil Engineering Prize is intended to give public recognition to the professional teaching and / or research career of those individuals whose activity has given substantial impetus to the development of civil engineering, in any of its fields of specialization, and has thus contributed to the awardees’ best service to society and to their recognition.
CANDIDATES FOR THE PRIZE:
Given the nature of the prize, the candidates will be proposed directly by the members of the jury. The names of the proposed candidates, together with a summary of their curriculum vitorum, will be circulated among the members of the jury three months before the award date. No candidates for posthumous awards may be proposed.
PRIZES:
A sole prize is established in each year, consisting of a commemorative statue and a presentation containing the prize winner’s fundamental accomplishments justifying the award.
SCOPE AND AWARD FREQUENCY:
This Civil Engineering Prize is global in scope and will be granted every three years.
PRIZE AWARDS:
The Fundación José Entrecanales Ibarra will notify when and where the prizes will be given to their winners.
JURY:
A single jury will be established made up of no fewer than nine and no more than twelve members. The composition of the jury will be as follows:
The jury will take its decisions by simple majority. The jury chairman shall have the casting vote in case of ties.
The Foundation will obtain from the selected members, at least six months before the jury meeting date, their acceptance of membership.
