• To summarize the achievements of Entrecanales y Távora in a few lines is nearly impossible. Logically, the company evolved throughout the 20th century, participating in the execution of many works such as the recovery of several railway lines during the 1940s, the civil works for steel mills in Avilés in the 1950s—where Entrecanales y Távora executed 90% of the work with a staff of over 10,000 workers. During the 60s the firm participated in the construction of the Bóveda de Almendra dams, some of the highest in the world at that time (202 metres), as well as the El Atazar dam in Madrid.
     
    In the late 60s and during the 70s, Entrecanales y Távora participated actively in the construction of the new nuclear power stations, and was involved in the civil works required by seven of the eight stations that were built. Those years also saw the construction of highways for the Plan Redia, the national government plan to improve and expand the country’s network of asphalt highways.
